What To Expect at FBC Worship Services
The First Baptist Church of Rogersville offers three worship services at 8:45 a.m., 10:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Below is a description of each service:
8:45 AM Early Service / Fragrance-Free
What to expect at the 8:45 a.m. Early Service in the Historic Sanctuary (also known as our Fragrance-Free Service)?
Our Early Church Service begins at 8:45 a.m. every Sunday morning and takes place in the church’s historic sanctuary built in 1910. This sanctuary is part of the original church building. The entrance is located on the West and faces Main Street.
The historic church bell is still active and rings at 8:45 a.m. across Rogersville to call worshippers to the church.
In this service we ask that you do not wear perfumes or strong fragrances. Due to the allergens and sensitivities of several members, we try to keep the historic sanctuary free of fragrances.
The early worship experience features traditional hymns, bible reading, prayer, and a message by Pastor Aaron.
How long is the Early Service?
The 8:45 a.m. Worship Service typically lasts around one hour.
10:45 AM and 6 PM Worship Services
What to expect at the 10:45 AM Worship Service?
When you walk through the front doors of the First Baptist Church of Rogersville you will be greeted by some of our very friendly members, who we refer to as our Welcome Team. The Welcome Team will give you a church bulletin with information about the service and any upcoming events and announcements. They will also give you a connection card. We would love for you to fill it out and drop it in the box located by the main entrance. You can also take it home and use the QR code to fill it out online. We are honored to have you as our guest!
If this is your first time to visit the First Baptist Church of Rogersville, we want you to feel comfortable! We know it can be hard to go somewhere new, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask our Welcome Team.
Additional Information
Where Should I Sit?
You can feel free to sit anywhere! If you would like, a member of the Welcome Team can help you find a good seat. Our worship services are casual. Many people wear jeans or dress in “business casual” attire.
What Type of Music Will Be Played?
Our services start with music. We have a worship choir that leads us in singing many traditional church hymns, as well as some worship songs you might recognize if you listen to Christian radio. We have many talented people within the church that perform special music. The worship choir performs special music and does two cantatas a year.
What about the Sermons?
Pastor Aaron Ipock teaches a bible-based message with practical application to help you live out your faith during the week. During some services, we may also celebrate communion. You are welcome to participate. If you have questions about becoming a follower of Jesus Christ, salvation, or baptism, have a prayer request, or want to join the church, talk with Pastor Aaron. Our mission is to know Jesus and to make Him known.
Do My Children Go Anywhere During the Service?
Children PreK to 1st grade typically start out in the main sanctuary at 10:45 a.m. with their parents and participate in the music service. We have a special time for children (Pre K to first grade) to come forward for a short children’s message around 11:15 a.m. Following this, children are invited to go to Children's Church or to go back to their seats and sit with their parents for the remainder of the worship service. It is up to parents to decide what is best for their children.
Where is the Nursery?
If you have children under the age of 3, we have a team of loving volunteers in our nursery area located in the entryway of the church foyer.
How Long is the Service?
The 8:45 a.m. Worship Service typically lasts around one hour. The 10:45 a.m. Worship Service is usually a little over an hour ending around noon. Afterward, you’re welcome to hang out and fellowship with others. The 6 p.m. Worship Service typically lasts one hour.
